Fun and Excitement at the Bintan Islands

Bintan Islands is memorable as a fantastic holiday destination in the minds of people for a lot of reasons. Tourists come here for snorkeling, scuba diving and water skiing. The place is full of beaches and where one may relax and sun bathe. Bintan on the eastern side has the beach group Trikora. A road takes the one to the place after it passes through the fishing village Teluk Kawal and then through Kangka Kawal, which is a smallish town.

Different kinds of water sports combined with abundance of marine live make the place irresistible to people. One can find snails, squids, sea turtles and oysters here. One could see green turtles or dolphins if one is at the right place at the right time. Tourists find Bintan Islands' underwater treasure trove of sea life very exciting to film and make documentaries about. Tourism is catered to by the huge number of water sport activities, and yet some of the tourists will find that they want to keep going from island to island.

It is indeed pleasant for the person who goes island hopping to visit the clusters of islands. Tour packages have many outings arranged which are exclusively meant for the visiting heritage sites. Sites of historical importance, market places, and sites for scuba diving, old buildings and monuments are the first choice. Tanjung Penang has a Mosque which also known as the sulfur-colored-mosque. You would see the minarets and domes are present in the original yellow color and the adhesive material is made of egg-white mortar.

The Riau cluster of islands has the capital at Tanjung Penang. Island Bintan is also one among the group of islands. It is located in Singapore's backyard and provides the outlet that Singaporeans need for a spot of fun and relaxation. The public are allowed to smoke in public places and littering is not an offence. Shopping is plentiful and the prices are quite cheap. Experts are considering naming the Fisabilillah Haji Raja as a world precious monument with a great deal of value.

Bintan islands are ideal for the vacationers since it has miles of beach, temples built in olden days, spas and golfing courses. The Telani Bentan-Bandar Ferry terminal located on the North side gives access to those arriving from Singapore. It is at Batam that one will find the airport; then one could traverse the expansive waterways with the help of boats to places such as Bintan Resorts. The climate is very tropical kind and has two distinct monsoons. The monsoon season begins by November and finishes by March while the next one begins by June and runs on till October.

The China-India trade route which passes close to the Bintan Islands makes them important as a stopover point. The local residents get their water and their electricity from the resorts which undertake to supply these. Another attraction is the wide variety of wildlife in the form of silver leaf monkeys, eagles, kites, hawksbill turtles, and sunbirds. Sea turtles find this place attractive and only one of the seven existing varieties can be found at a different place worldwide.
