The construction business requires many types of equipment and machinery. When it comes to large urbanization projects some may need something as large as cranes, back hoes and other ones that get the job done. The project managers and owners have a choice of whether to rent out these things or buy them depending on the circumstance and duration of construction.

One of the most important parts of making a skyscraper, or any building for that matter is making the foundation. It is a basic principle that the higher it goes, the deeper the footing should be. This will make sure the structure is safe once it is done and can deal with external forces like earthquakes and strong winds and what not. The taller the building the deeper its footing needs to be. This ensures that the load is transferred on to the stronger subsoil than just retaining it on the loose top soil layer. This is when impact driven piles, caissons, hellical piles and earth stabilized columns come in.

Reinforced concrete, steel, timber and other strong materials are used as the skeletal system that uses the driver for it to be dug deep into the ground. It does not only limit to the vertical pole but other parts are composed of the cap, the pile, grade beam and then the wall. This makes sure that the weight of the other materials in the building are properly distributed.

Boring and driving are the two methods available in installing the founding poles. Driving in particular, is a lot like hammering down a nail on wood except in a more massive scale. There are two ways that driving can be done which are the pre cast and cast in situ. These same options are also available for the boring method.

Knowing which method to choose depends on certain factors. Such factors include the type and quality of soil, the length of the building, stratas of rocks and so on. The matter involves a substantial amount of study. One of big advantage of driving methods are how the pole can be driven in very long lengths as long as it is done with the right equipment.

Approval for usage of this equipment depends on the engineer and the method cannot be started unless it is evaluated by them. The structure of the driver basically composes of the hammer, cushions, leads, the pile and the template. There are various types of hammers and they can vary in efficiency.

This particular machinery also vary in types. The types are based off on what power source or engine is being use to handle the job. There are five most popular that are being used in construction today. The first one ever invented was the drop type using only gravity as its source of strength and power. It basically just drives the material by raising the pole at a certain length and hammering it down with the help of gravity.

This is one of those construction machinery that requires a good amount of study for its usage to be effective. While its basic principle is a lot like a hammer, there are greater complexities that surround it when brought in a more large scale setting. The pole is the nail that needs to be pushed into the surface while the driver is the hammer.
