Staying In An Anchorage Hostel

By Dorothea Garner

There are many advantages to staying in an Anchorage Hostel. The whole experience is on to be remembered. The advantages include significant cost savings, meeting new people, getting advice from locals on great places to visit, and the overall traveler experience.

You will save considerable money by staying in a hostel. Hotels can cost as much as five times more than hostels. The reason is a much higher staff level and providing private rooms for every visitor. Hotels are also likely to double their prices in busy seasons, while others keep their prices much closer to a stable listed price.

Social interactions happen in the common areas. Most will include at least a shared lounge or game room that includes board games and a television. Some will provide a shared kitchen. These common spaces provide for a much higher interaction amongst guests which can lead to new friendships and better knowledge of places to visit while on holiday.

Shared rooms are prevalent. Most hostels include a dorm style setup. They will include several bunk beds in each room. Some will have gender segregation, while many do not. As with the common rooms, you will be able to lounge around after a long day and get to know fellow adventurers. Lockers are usually provided so you can secure your valuables.

Sometimes private rooms are available. When they are available, they are usually more expensive and go quickly. Most can accommodate two people but do not include a private bath. Though they provide a nice private experience, many travelers forgo this privacy in order to have greater interaction. You will still be able to have plenty of interaction in the common spaces.

Owners provide knowledge of great local hotspots. One of the biggest frustrations of hotel travelers is missing the best local scenery. Most will spend time wandering through the various tourist scenery and miss many of the gems that only locals frequent. Spending time with the local hostel owners and experienced travelers helps alleviate this problem by giving advice on the best restaurants and scenes that may not be listed in tour guides.

Experience is the main reason for staying in an Anchorage Hostel. Combining the common rooms, close proximity to other visitors, and finding the hidden gems through local guidance provides for a much more satisfying experience. This is not something that can be garnered from a typical hotel stay.

When you stay in an Anchorage Hostel, you can be assured that your holiday will provide the best experience possible. Connecting with locals and other visitors is the main reason for the stay. Saving money while you do is simply a bonus for the trip.
