By Rosetta Drake

Over the years, many people have come to realize the pleasure of owning an RV vehicle. With this increase in ownership, advancements have been made with the development of excellent park facilities to take care of their needs. Alabama RV Parks have become a very popular place to visit with the many locations that are available.

This southeastern state is an ideal location for those who wish to have an enjoyable vacation or for those who just wish to travel the United States. Not only is there a seashore, but lakes, rivers, and mountain camping areas as well. Many of the parks have additional attractions such as golfing, playgrounds, heated swimming pools, and so forth.

One great advantage of driving an RV in Alabama is that highway I-20 travels straight through the center of the state, with the various camping sites nearby. Some of these facilities are privately owned, while others are located in Federal or State run recreational areas. Some sites are small while others may have as many as 220 sites.

Campers who enjoy fishing find this the ideal state for that sport. With its seashore, rivers, and lakes there is an abundance of various fish species to try to catch. The rest of the party will also find entertainment in the presence of things such as heated swimming pools, playgrounds, trails, golfing, and so forth.

A couple of examples are a park in the Lincoln Area and one in the Talladega National Forest. The Lincoln Area location has hookups that include cable and the Internet, as well as a well built boat launch. It offers swimming, water skiing and other activities as well. The National Forest, operated by Park Rangers, presents nature at its best with a 102-mile hiking trail and bass fishing in a neaby creek. This offers a chance to see the tree growth as it was in the time of the explorers.

These are just a couple of examples of the marvelous opportunity for the RV traveler to have the experience of living in native habitat surroundings. Modern technology has also come to this type of camping with most facilities including cable, Internet, and Hi-Fi connections. This allows a person who must work away from home to do so while enjoying a relaxing atmosphere.

The Internet lists 26 mountain, 33 metropolitan, and 22 river, RV parks in Alabama. Each one is built to accommodate the modern traveler and offers a huge opportunity to really learn about the countryside of this state. Some people choose two or three spots to spend their vacation so they can enjoy a variety of activities. Many others research and choose a couple of different parks for the coming year.

Many of the people who visit Alabama RV parks are retirees. They find this an excellent stop in their travels and provides the opportunity to meet fellow travelers. All parks allow pets so it is possible to travel with one's favorite companion. People with families find this is a wonderful way to introduce their children to life away from the cities. There is fun and recreation in this state for anyone who is a RV traveler.
