Finding Costa Rica Beach Resorts To Visit

By Jennifer Fisher

Vacation time is a special time for anyone, whether you are singled, a couple or a family. Many people enjoy going somewhere warm and sandy, such as a beach, when they get to take a trip. If you want to really go all out for your next beach vacation, consider one of the many Costa Rica beach resorts that are available.

Costa Rica has a lot to offer people. It is located in Central America and has a very temperate climate, especially in the winter months, when the low temperature is still in the high 60s. Most months, the high is somewhere in the 80s, which makes this a fantastic destination anytime of year for people wanting to get away from it all.

You can make up a list of amenities you may desire in a resort vacation, and there is likely a place in Costa Rica that has all of them, and then some. At the top of a lot of lists is a swimming pool, for days when you do not want to deal with sand. While pretty much all hotels and resorts in the country have public pools, a few may offer smaller, private plunge pools in their larger rooms for guests that would like to cool off in the privacy of their room.

There are lounges and bars in every hotel, where you can order alcoholic or nonalcoholic beverages for those who do not like to drink. You can imbibe indoors in the air conditioning, or enjoy a cold one outside near the pool or even near the ocean if a bar or waiter is available.

There is likely at least one restaurant to eat at within the hotel. Many larger properties have multiple restaurants to eat at. Some are buffet style, while others may have regular sit down service with wait staff. Some even have themes, and most feature at least some local dishes and delicacies so you can get a true taste of the locale.

While there may be multiple swimming pools on the property, there is also the ocean nearby. In some cases, it is just a hope skip and a jump away from your room. Many places offer free lounge chairs right on the sand, and possibly even a towel service so you always have a fresh, dry one on hand. Some even allow you to order drinks and food on the sand. They might even have private cabanas for families and groups.

You do not have to stay put on the resort at all times, though. There are lots of fun excursions and activities that are off the property. Some hotels will arrange for these for you if you request, though they may cost extra. They include culinary tours, cultural tours and shopping excursions among others. Sightseeing tours of historical structures and local wildlife are also very popular, especially since Costa Rica is home to many howler monkeys and exotic, colorful birds.

When you return from your beach day or excursions, you can look forward to a clean room. Most properties offer single rooms with a patio or balcony. Some give you the option of renting a villa which can sleep an entire family and may include a kitchen and other amenities that most regular hotel rooms would not.
